Visit Tortuguero with us and you’ll be helping to protect this important habitat. For each reservation, we allocate a percentage to protect Tortuguero National Park and sea turtles. 

It is the mission of Sea Turtle Conservancy to ensure the survival of sea turtles within the Caribbean, Atlantic and Pacific through research, education, training, advocacy and protection of the natural habitats upon which they depend.

Through sea turtle research, conservation and advocacy, the Sea Turtle Conservancy is addressing the threats to sea turtles and the natural habitats upon which they depend. Your tax-deductible donation will help us ensure sea turtles are swimming free in the oceans for future generations!

Your donation supports Sea Turtle Research and Conservation in the United States, Costa Rica, Panama, Bermuda, and the Wider Caribbean; Cutting-edge Education Programs reaching millions of people around the world; Protection of Critical Sea Turtle Nesting Beaches, such as Tortuguero, Costa Rica. 

Habitat Protection
The Sea Turtle Conservancy program work to enact protective laws and to establish sanctuaries for sea turtles. Through environmentally-sound tourism, visitors experience nature without harming it, and enhance the economies of local communities.

Advocacy
The Sea Turtle Conservancy monitors numerous state, national and international issues affecting marine turtles. As issues arise that pose a threat to turtles, our experts intervene with appropriate direct action.

Research
Over four decades of scientific study sponsored by the Sea Turtle Conservancy has generated essential data about endangered species and their habitats and has advanced the world’s understanding of the ancient and enigmatic sea turtle.

Education.     
The Sea Turtle Conservancy works with members, companies, tour operatos, coastal residents, conservationists, and governments to increase awareness about sea turtles and the threats facing them. Education is the first step toward effective and long lasting protection of endangered species.
